About Us - Mission-Synchronized Solutions

Laulima is a Hawaiian word meaning cooperation (working with one accord)

Laulima Government Solutions (Laulima) is a Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO)-Owned 8(a) Certified Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) non-personal services provider.

Certified in 2012, Laulima is the second company established under the Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs). Through our total solutions package, Laulima can perform on a broad range of contractor services and delivery solutions for our customers’ mission support requirements. We boast proven management staff and infrastructure capable of exceptional performance on large-scale Federal and DoD contracts. We provide Total Solutions (integrated quality products, services, and solutions) to customers worldwide.

Our company name reflects both our Hawaiian heritage and our aspirations. By selecting a word that stems from Hawaiian language, we are celebrating a rich and respected culture and distinguishing ourselves as a Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO)-Owned 8(a) certified Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB). As a member of the FOCs, Laulima also represents the cohesion that we bring, as One Team with One Mission, to each and every project, program, and contract we undertake.

Our Purpose

Our purpose, our “Why,” is the Alaka`ina Foundation. We are an organization that has been long-committed to serving our Federal clients’ objectives; we are also driven to give back to our communities. The goal of Alaka`ina 501(c)3 is to ensure that the young men and women of Hawai`i have the skills and competencies they need to be effective leaders. Alaka`ina is making this a reality by developing innovative educational programs that combine leadership, science and technology, and environmental stewardship. Each member of the Alaka`ina FOCs is profoundly dedicated to the success of our customers as well as that of our charity.

Our Vision and Values

Our vision is to ensure customers achieve their mission objectives through our synchronized solutions.

Our values were born from Native Hawaiian culture and are prevalent in everything we do. In Hawaiian society, guests and strangers alike are welcomed with the spirit of aloha. Everyone has a responsibility to use his or her talents to the benefit of the entire `Ohana or family. We believe that `Ohana embraces not just our immediate family but also our companies, our customers, our communities, and ultimately—the reason why we do what we do—our charity, Alaka`ina 501(c)3.

What makes us different from other organizations is not only our NHO status—but what we do, how we do it, and why we do it. Our organization’s values are based on the following five principles: Ho`omau, Po`okela, Kuleana, Laulima, and Kūpono.

These five principles guide our relationships in our workplace and communities. They are the cornerstones of the FOCs and are critical to forming productive, long-term customer relationships; attracting and retaining talent; and contributing to the communities in which we operate. It is this aloha spirit—as much as our technical excellence—that is the foundation of our continued success and ultimately our charity’s success.

Po`okela captures our goal to strive for excellence. We target solutions and services of the highest caliber and set our sights to the highest level of achievement.

Kuleana is the act of viewing responsibility as a privilege and honor. No matter the level of action needed, we accept responsibility as a duty—not in pursuit of reward, but because it is the right thing to do.

Laulima, the spirit of cooperation, drives everyone in the Family of Companies (FOCs) to work together towards a common goal. Aside from internal project goals and our customers’ missions, our goal is furthering our awareness of our charity, Alaka`ina 501(c)3.

Kūpono demonstrates our uncompromising integrity. We strive to be fair and just in all of our relationships, both internally and externally. We always seek the just and decent path in dealings and decisions.

Ho`omau is one’s individual progress, despite any hurdles. Our personnel apply perseverance and endurance to achieve progress.
